Dr Andy Pieris is the co-owner of Casuarina Seaside Vet.
Graduating in 2009, Dr Andy worked for 2 years as a large animal vet before focusing on dogs and cats. Dr Andy was recently crowned 'Most Trusted Vet' in a national search for the next 'Bondi Vet', she is also an ambassador for Turmeric Australia and Dr Zoo pet products. Growing up in Queensland, her love of animals was evident with goats, horses, cats, dogs and more, as part of her childhood at home. Dr Andy is so passionate about her furred friends and is often found cuddling her patients at any spare second she has! She really is a true advocate for her patients.
Dr Josh's dreams of providing exceptional veterinary care in his own clinic came to fruition with the opening of Casuarina Seaside Vet.
Graduating also in 2009, he spent his first year training with the Veterinary Specialist Services. He has a keen interest in ultrasound diagnostics and is passionate about providing top quality care for our patients. He is the humble, handsome, quiet achiever of our team!
Josh grew up locally and spends most of his spare time surfing or in the water.
I have been with Casuarina Clinic since its opening and I couldn’t be happier with our fantastic team and clients.
I love being able to interact with our clients and their pets, sharing stories and information. I also have an interest in nutrition, surgical nursing and wildlife. I began my nursing at Byron Bay where I spent over 2 years working in a small but busy practice. I then went to Darwin where I spent a further 2 years working in high volume practice working predominantly in surgical and hospital nursing. During my time in Darwin I also worked heavily with a wide range of wildlife, performing emergency care and rehabilitation on animals including reptiles, wallabies, sea turtles, birds, flying foxes and raptors. Being able to work so closely with such amazing people and animals ignited my passion to always care and treat our diverse native wildlife.
I’m looking forward to watching our clinic grow and change!
I started in the industry in 2002 and have worked ever since nursing and caring for all our furry friends big and small. I am originally from Melbourne and have worked as a surgical nurse gaining much experience assisting with various cases over the years. I work part time as the Senior Nurse at Casuarina and enjoy pampering and spoiling all of our patients, including giving out many cuddles! I love my job and feel very blessed that I am able to work in an industry that I am passionate about.
I began my career in Veterinary Nursing after years of world wide travel, where I volunteered with animals ranging from wildlife rehabilitation centers to dog shelters, and have loved every minute of it.
I have always had a passion for the care of animals and have been surrounded by them from a young age, growing up on a property just outside of Byron Bay. I always knew I wanted to grow a career out of helping them and knowing I now play a role in nursing your fur babies back to health and seeing them go home healthy is the most rewarding and fulfilling part.
I have a beautiful kelpie X named Indie and live with a gorgeous rescue Labrador/Ridgeback named Kofi and a Bulldog Pablo, so when I’m not working or continuing my studies, my time is spent around my furry dog pals.
Siobhan has been working at Casuarina Seaside Vet as a veterinary nurse since September 2017 and has been in the industry for the last 6 years. Siobhan has two rescued greyhounds, Myles (4 years old) and Tao (just turned 3 years old but will forever and always be a goofy puppy!). Siobhan loves people just as much as pets (well almost, let’s be real!) and you will find her tending our reception counter for this reason. Please drop in and say hello with your fur-baby so that Siobhan can offer a yummy treat for a cosy cuddle!
Dr Sim Dench has been working with us since we opened the clinic and we are so glad (and very fortunate) to have her as part of the team.
She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2009 and brings to the practice enthusiasm and the most up to date knowledge and skills.
Her real passion is behavioral medicine and she is a certified ‘Fear Free ‘ practitioner, an expert in preventing & alleviating fear, anxiety & stress in your pet whilst visiting our hospital.
Sim is calm, kind and a great communicator. In her spare time, she is basically a gourmet chef (she takes after her talented father) and other than avoiding being swatted across the face randomly by her (truly beloved) cat, Max, she has a real love for all animals, great and small.
Karen is our beautiful Saturday nurse. She has grown up with dogs since she was a young girl - having a Border Collie and then a Blue Heeler when she was in her teens. Karen's interest in veterinary nursing began when she was young and she just loves everything about the role, from training puppies into model dog citizens to assisting with surgical and hospital cases.
Drop in any Saturday morning and say hello to Karen!
I graduated from University College Dublin in 2008, and immediately hopped on a plane to Perth. My first job was in mixed practice in Geraldton WA , which was an altogether unique and excellent experience! Following this I worked in Melbourne , before hopping over to Bunbury, WA for 4 years. Ireland then beckoned, so off I went home. After 2 years, I felt the distinct need for some sunshine, so I returned to Australia and worked as a locum for a year, visiting different practices in different states while also seeing more of this brilliant country. I then found gorgeous Yamba, which is where I have been the last 2 years. When not at work, I tend to either be running or stuck in a book. I also love good food and travelling. Having worked with Josh and Andy in the past, I am delighted to be back in Casuarina again.
Chet stumbled upon the industry in a chance encounter after an accident forced him into an early career change. Blatantly headhunted when Casuarina Seaside Vet opened, Chet took a gamble and traded the Northern Territory for the North Coast. Outside of work, his interests include walkies and chicken (eating it).
